Hi,
I am heading to Settefrati in June and would like to find out anything about my 3rd great grandparents Salvatore Conetta (1806) and his wife Enrichetta Gentile (1805). I was wondering if you could find any documents about them, or where they were married (church) or buried? Thank you so much for any help!

Re: Conetta/Gentile
Settefrati is unfortunately difficult to trace your family tree as all the parish records prior to 1900 were destroyed in a fire.
The town has the books missing from the Family search microfilms but won't search them. There is only one church and cemetery. You might wan to read about planning a visit to the town of origin on my website. Also about cemeteries.

I don't understand what you mean - the town has the books missing from the family search microfilms but won't search them...

That's right, the town has the missing books but they are in storage and most don't have indexes. If you don't have a date they won't do research.
For example, there are no civil records prior to 1809 so you won't find the birth records you are looking for. They probably married around 1825 and Settefrati only has the book for 1822. The State Archives have the others (or Family Search). The death records are missing lots of years and there are no indexes. The books are not in order and are very dirty/dusty.

would anyone know of a hotel or any other place for me to stay when I get to Settefrati?
