Baptismal record help

Post by jml1991 »

Hello all,

I am trying to decipher this baptismal record from 22 December 1594. The parents are Filippo Cinomani (or Cinquemani -- I've seen it written both ways) and Elisabetta. However, I cannot see the name of the child, or even whether it's a boy or a girl. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Maybe it had to be written in the blank space in first line...do you have the entire page for a comparison?

I've attached the entire page, but I don't see any other information, unfortunately. Even without a name, it would be helpful to know the gender of the infant, if you can discern that.
Thanks so much for taking a look at this!

As far as I can read the document, there's no way to know the gender.
But maybe I'm wrong, and someone else can help..

There's no name, the only guess I have is that the baby was a stillborn

Oh that is an interesting thought, and a very real possibility. I hadn't thought of that. Thank you!
