Veschini and Sotelli Genealogy

Post by annaleal »

Hey guys, this is the first time I'm posting here.
I need help finding more information about my greatgreatgrandmother.
All I know is that her name was Genoveffa Veschini, her parents were Giuseppe Veschini and Margherita Sottili, she was born in Bolsena on February 1st 1886 and she had two younguer brothers, Giovanni, who died at the age of four in March 31st 1898 on the steamship that brought the family to Brazil but his death was registered in Castel Giorgio (I suppose the family lived there for a while before coming to Brazil) and Adolfo, who died in Brazil when he was a teenager.
They came to Brazil on board of the steamship Colombo, from Genovia, and arrived here on April 28th 1898.
I was able to find Giovanni's death certificate on Family Search and I have Genoveffa's birth certificate. My family believes Giuseppe and Margherita only got married in 1898.

What do I do now, where do I start looking? Thank you in advance.

Many marriages took place in the church often many years before the family registered the marriage civilly. In this case just before they emigrated otherwise the passort or travel documents would show the children to be illegitimate.
You should be able to find the marriage at a Family History Centre or www.antenati.it

Thank you for your replies!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything on Antenati and I don't have a FHL near me :(

However, I've found a war memorial and death certificate from another man called Giuseppe Veschini, who was born in 1891 and died in 1916. Is it possible that he's related somehow to my great great grandmother's father, who was born in 1855?
