My grandfather Giovambattista Cavarretta was the brother of Aunt Elisabetta (your grandmother) whom I met when I was still a little boy during one of her trips that she made to Italy many, many years ago together with her sister Maria (their memory is still alive in me.)

Among the brothers of my grandfather Giovambattista there was also Francesco Cavarretta, who has been dead for many years, who was not married and had lived his entire life in the home of his brother Giovambattista. In the first decade of the 1900s, as a young man, he had tried to join his parents in America, but at the time was sent back to Italy by the American authorities.
