Marriage Atti help needed

Post by kevinkuta »

Below is what I’m able to determine so far on this record. Need help filling in the question marks and the notes at the bottom of the document, I think they are listing children born before the marriage took place.

Pietro Garattoni and Cecilia Bertozzi married 19 May 1879 in Santarcangelo di Romagna....
Pietro Garattoni age?, occupation ?, born in and living in Santarcangelo. Son of Francesco living in Santarcangelo, and Maria Cinarelli living in Santarcangelo

Cecilia Bertozzi, age?, occupation? born in Rimini, living in Santarcangelo. Daughter of ?? and of Maria ??, also living in Rimini.

At the bottom it notes the dates the publications were posted -
Sunday, 13 April, and 20 April.
Then it lists the four children born to them before they were married, that were being legitimised:
The first, a male, born 27 February 1870, named Luigi. His birth record can be found in that year's register (1870), Act No 57
The second, a female, named Barbara, born 5 January 1873, Act No 4
The third, a male born 24 December 1874, named Salvatore, Act No 246
The fourth, a male born 1 July 1878, Act No 167, named Giovanni

(Once again you will find that on these children's bith records that the mother was not named.)

Great job on finding the record and extracting the info.

Edit to Add: When you see the word "fu" in the records, for example where it says "e, della fu Cinarelli Maria," this is telling you that the name immediately following is deceased. It literally translates to "was" Cinarelli Maria.

Fu = was ie singular
Furono = were ie plural
