Re: Translation, please? Fanucci genealogy...
http://babelfish.altavista.com helps a little...
Fanucci has a nucleus umbro in the zone of Gubbio and Scheggia and Pascelupo (PG) and in Tuscany in the zone of Montecatini (PT), Fanuzzi, a lot the much rarest one, could be emiliano, would have to derive from the aphaeresis of the Stefano name, of this use has an example to Pisa in an action of July 1308, where Field comes cited a such Fanuccius Ianuarii de. Traces of this cognomizzazione we find to them to Pisa in 1300 in an action we read: "... Acta Fanucci notarii filii Iacobi quondam Fanucci, civis Pisani, de omnibus cartis ET factis monasterii SS. Marie ET Gorgonii de insula Gorgona Pisane diocesis... ", and to Siena in the second half of 1500 with writer Camillo Fanucci.

Fannuci has a umbrian nucleus in the areas of Gubbio and Scheggia E Pascelupo (Puglia) and one in Tuscany around the Montecatini (Piedmonte) area. Fanuzzi, though much rarer, could be Emiliano, it should/could derive from the apheresis** of the name Stefano we have an example in Pisa of this use in an Act of July 1308, where the details of a certain
Fanuccius Ianuarii of Campo are cited. Traces of this forming of a surname we also find in Pisa in the 1300’s and in an Act we can read: “ Act Fanucci noted son of Jacobi named Fanucci, recorded as living in Pisani, in these papers and details of the monastic diocese of SS. Marie et Gorgonii de insula Gorgona Pisane,…â€Â
