Antonio from Marineo

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

Quick question on a 1651 riveli from Marineo. It's for Antonio Quartuccio where he is 28 and from Marineo. His father is listed Paolino but what I don't understand is what's written in between that. It looks like Vicenza?

Thanks

Chris

I'm understanding Vicenza to be his mother. It says "son of Vicenza and (of the deceased?) Paulino"

Hopefully someone else will check.

Happy to help. Yes, there is a city called Vicenza up near Venice and Verona. It's also a girl's name. Do you have this list here: https://script.byu.edu/Documents/Nomi-Femminili.pdf

This list here is for male Italian names: https://script.byu.edu/Documents/Nomi-Maschili.pdf
