Hello,
I am so pleased to find my grandfather's, Beniamino, birth certificate today as I have so many of his documents including letters when he fought in Europe in WWI. He was one of I think 13 children but a few were adopted. I can't thank whom ever translates this for me enough; I am so grateful for each translation.
So happy, thank you.

Re: Help with the translation of my grandfather's birth certificate #9
Birth No 9: Beniamino Negri, son of Luigi and of Enrichetta Pastore, born 29 May 1893
Registered in town of Piverone on 1 June 1893
Appearing before the official was Luigi Negri, 38 yo, Falegname (carpenter/wood worker), who lived in Piverone. He reported that at the hour 1.20 am on 29 May 1893 in the house in Via Valle, No 292, from Enrichetta Pastore, his wife, living with him, was born a baby of male sex, who he presented to me (the official) and named him Beniamino.
What a lovely find, Jefferie! You are going well

Dear Angela,
Thank you for helping to translate my grandfather's birth certificate. Sounds like the "olden days" when pop would come out of the fields and find the newborn waiting. So exciting and can't wait to let all the relatives know. I am the only one working on our genealogy and they are all so happy with what I have done so far. Luigi and Enrichetta had about 13 children, a few adopted from southern Italy. I found the last three today but will post them in a couple of days. In the meantime I will place what I have in the family tree maker. Can't thank you enough for your encouragement; I have learned so much and now have the title "rookie". I saw your post on Nigra and I think some of these names were perhaps used interchangeably and you might be right about the names. When the folks came here to the states, they used Negris and then changed it back to Negri. So nice to visit with you and I am certain I will post more docs later on. I found some, very old records and the writing is very hard. I am going to post a copy of one to get an idea of how it reads so that I will be able to tell where our surname is in the doc (like a practice run). I am happy I am getting the correct records now as I felt like a fish out of water. I am hoping to learn some Italian though so I don't have to be quite so reliant on everyone.
My best to you,
Jefferie

You are most welcome, Jefferie. You are doing so great at finding these records. It can be quite overwhelming initially. You must be an absolute gift to your family. Good on you for doing this for everyone. I really like the way you are clearly giving each of your posts a unique name, it really helps. You take care and look forward to seeing more records from you. There are always lots of great people here happy to help.
