Translation help needed for 1741 Latin birth record #974 for Giovanni Lorenzo Nigris

Post by jrbak »

Hi,
I am in need of translation for a 1741 Latin birth record #974 for Giovanni Lorenzo Nigris on pg. 140 I asked for some help with the translation of another Giovanni Lorenzo Nigris (1738) a few minutes ago. I think that the son died perhaps, and they named this son after him? Parents are Joseph Anthony and Anna Nigris (Negri).

Thank you!

Giovanni Lorenzo, son of Giuseppe Antonio and Anna, spouses de Nigris, was baptized on Nov 5, 1741. Born on the First of the same month

Hi Mmogno,
It is interesting that this child was born on the first day of the month but was baptized on the 5th. I believe the significance for this is that the 1738 Giovanni Lorenzo did die and they named this Giovanni (1741) after him, baptizing him on the same day as the Giovanni before. I may be way off base but it is interesting both were baptized on the 5th. Usually too, most baptisms occur the same day or the following day. Just thinking? Any thoughts? Thank you for the translations; I appreciate it so much. Have a good day.
