Birth No 117: Antonio Bianco

Registered Padula: 12 June 1813

Appearing was Michele Bianco, 32 yo, contadino (peasant), living in Padula, Strada Tempone. He reported that on 11 June 1813, at 4 pm, was born a male (baby), in his own house, from him and his legitimate wife, Maria Ruotolo, 27 yo, who he presented and named Antonio.

Then it just lists the names of the men who were there to witness the presentation of the child and declaration of his birth at the Town Hall.

(Giuseppe Volpe, 31 yo, ferraro (blacksmith), and Antonio Volpe, 25 yo, ferraro, both living in Padula, Strada Piazza.)

All signed, except the declarant who was unable to write.

Marriage No 39: Antonio Bianco and Rosangela Moscarella

Padula: 25 September 1837

Church Marriage: Padula, 27 September 1837 (Right Column)

Groom: Antonio Bianco, 24 yo, born and living in Padula, bracciale (day labourer), son of deceased Michele Bianco, and of Maria Ruotolo, living in Padula.

Bride: Rosangela Moscarella, 22 yo, born and living in Padula, daughter of Francesco Paolo Moscarella, a possidente (landowner), living in Padula, and of Saveria Volpe, living in Padula.

The next page lists the allegati (attachments) that were presented before the marriage could take place. They include:

Birth Certificate of the groom, 11 June 1813.
Birth Certificate of the bride, 17 September 1813/1814
Death Certificate of the father of the groom, 28 June 1814
Death Certificate of the father of the bride, 5 August 1828 (which contradicts what the marriage record implies ie that he is living?)

It mentions the paternal grandfathers of the bride and groom but I'm not sure that they were actually able to locate their death records. Often they can't, and there is just a certificate saying that the Priest looked for the respective death record but could not find it. Someone else could take a look in case I have misinterpreted. Hopefully you will now be able to find the original death records and the bride's birth record from the info given here.

Edit to Add: The wording re the groom's paternal grandfather is: "Certificate from the Mayor of Padula which says that the said groom is "without" a paternal grandfather." The wording for the bride's paternal grandfather basically means the same thing.

Death No 157: Antonio Labriola

Padula: 24 October 1846

Antonio Labriola died 23 October 1846, 8 pm, in his own house. He was aged 33, born in Padula, a bracciale, living in Padula, the son of (living) Michele Labriola, a bracciale, living in Padula, and of Maria Ruotolo, husband of Rosangela Moscarella. He left four children, two boys and two girls, all minors.

Not sure what to think about this death record. Maybe the clerk wrote down the surname incorrectly – it did happen, or the information given by the declarant's was incorrect – which also happened. Have you found four children born to this couple?
