Help Translating Birth Record

Post by DanTheMan »

Hello all, I'm having trouble with some of the hand written portions of this entry, which I believe to be the birth record of my great-great-great grandfather, Antonio Marciano.

ore/time of birth?

distretto/district?
Age of Luigi Marciano?(38?)
Where Luigi Marciano lived (Can't make out what comes before what I think is 'Massaquano')

I'm kind of lost when it comes to any of the mother's/wife's information, including her name.

Any help with witness information, or the additional baptism info in the margin would also be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Birth No 32: Luigi Marciano

Registered Vico Equenze: 2 February 1853, 5 pm
District of Castellammare

Appearing before the official was Luigi Marciano, 38 yo, Colono, living in Casale di Massaquano, who presented a baby boy born from Teresa di Simone, 33 yo, his wife, living with him, and from him the declarant, age etc as above. Baby was born on the first day of February, year indicated above (1 February 1853) at one in the evening, in his own home, and was given the name Antonio.

Baptised 2 February 1853, by D. Gaetano Guida, Parish Priest of Massaquano.

If these records are online, it's always preferable to link us to the online record.

Just circling back for some help translating the witness information, if anyone is able?

Antonio's last name? (Maybe Esposito?) Am I correct the age is 73? I'm not sure of what the profession or location says.

Any ideas as to the second witness' name? 50 years old? Farmer living in San Salvatore/San Salvador?

Many thanks!

Raffaele Stile, 50 yo, Colono (farmer), living in San Salvatore.
