I'm looking for Anna Cagliostro, who is my great-great-grandmother.
She's the wife of Antonino Scarfone, and mother of Stefano Scarfone and a bunch of other Scarfone children. I've found birth and/or death and/or marriage records for other Scarfones and all of them have confirmed that Anna Cagliostro is their mother.
However, finding Anna herself has proven to be a bit of a challenge.
Per my reading of Stefano Scarfone's birth record, it appears that Anna Cagliostro was 28 when Stefano was born, placing her birth date on or around 1840.
Stefano's sister Carmela died in 1931 at the age of 77, placing Carmela's year of birth around 1854, which means Anna would have been around 14 if I'm correct about her birth date. Not unheard of, but definitely something that gives me pause.
I found an Anna Cagliostro, born in 1837 in Santo Stefano (record 68), born July 26 1837. Parish birth records for S. Stefano aren't available between 1820-1847, so I can't confirm her birth that way. Parish marriage records aren't available between 1820-1864, so I can't search in parish records for her marriage either.
I was able to find Anna's sister Lorenza in Santo Stefano Matrimoni 1851 (image 21, ordinance 19) -- she has the same parents (Pasquale Cagliostro and Fortunata Favano) and was living in S. Stefano, but for the life of me I can't figure out where Anna is at this time.
I've searched birth/marriage/death records in Orti, Santo Stefano, Diminniti, Reggio Cal, Cosoleto... everywhere I have found Scarfones or Calabreses elsewhere in my family tree, and have come up empty.
Anna died between Oct 19 1895 (not listed as deceased on son Michele's marriage record) and May 28 1910 (listed as deceased on son Stefano's marriage records).
What's my next step?

Re: Which Anna Cagliostro? [Reggio Calabria]
There is a baptismal deed in Santo Stefano of July 26, 1837: Anna Cagliostro daughter of Pasquale Cagliostro and Fortunata Favano.
I don't understand why the baptisms from 1820 to 1847 were not published on this website: https://www.archiviodiocesanoreggiobova ... rocchiali/ However, they are there. I will inquire about how and why they are not online.

Re: Which Anna Cagliostro? [Reggio Calabria]
Your Anna Cagliostro was baptized as Lucia Cagliostro 19 august 1830, daughter of Giuseppe and Francesca Suraci.
Don't worry. It happened many times a person went bij another name in stead of his/her baptize name. The marriage act gives the clue.

Oh wow, so the Lucia Anna Cagliostro is the right one, then? That's fantastic, thank you so much!
Is the baptismal record online somewhere?
