This was a big one but I'm finally finished with Montefredane births from 1809-1865 after working on it for the last week or two.
For fun:
3354 births in this period
Most births in April, least births in February
51.87% male, 47.97% female, remainder not given
26 sets of twins giving a total incidence of 0.77% with no higher-order multiples
Oldest father was listed as 66 years old, oldest mother as 50
Youngest father was listed as 18 years old, youngest mother as 17
Some of the problem surnames here are Testa/Festa, Girone/Tirone, etc. As always, be sure to be careful with the search feature and double check me with the actual record.
I am going to now go back through the marriages and deaths and make sure everything is in agreement and then see if I can concatenate all into one master file to group families.

I've used some of my free time during quarantine to do Montefredane deaths 1866-1899. I compiled everything into the version of 1809-1865 that I was working off of (contains corrections as I find them) into one big file for every death in Montefredane from 1809-1899. Some numbers:
5031 deaths registered in this town
51.7% of all deaths were those under the age of 10
Next highest frequency are those aged 70-80, making up 10.5% of the total
The alleged oldest person was Tommaso Giordano who is recorded as dying at age 110 in 1816 with only one other centenarian
Most common surname is Gaita with 330 dying in this period
Towards the 1880s we start to see the shift of a couple local surnames, such as Russo -> Rossi

Finished with marriages 1866 - 1899. Combined into 1809 - 1865 collection with some corrections. Organized by surname of groom and surname of bride to make searching easier.

http://www.grecicousins.com/1.html - If you are lucky enough to have relatives that came from Greci, Italy, this is by far, the best Italian site I’ve seen. Volunteers have been working for over 20 years on it. It is incredibly detailed, easy to utilize, and very well linked from generation to generation.
Finished finally with Montefredane births 1866-1899. This now completes the civil registration for the 19th century. Apparently I have met my upload quota so feel free to PM me for the sheet. I have also made many corrections to the existing sheets. I will see if I can get the old versions deleted to free up space and post the most recent versions here.
From 1809-1899 in Montefredane:
Approximately 6577 births
Most frequent birth month April (623 total), least frequent February (435 total)
Oldest father's age was given as 76, youngest father's age given was 18
Oldest mother's age given was 50, youngest mother's age given was 16
Most common surname is Iandiorio, followed closely by Gaita, Dente, Giordano, d'Aquino
Rough estimated population increase of 1509
~51.75% male, 48.25% female
52 sets of twins for an incidence of ~0.8% with no higher-order multiples
For births, marriages, and deaths 1809-1899 there were over 13,000 individual records in this town. I will probably continue to complete births 1900-1915, marriages 1900-1945, and deaths 1900-1945 as this is all that is currently available. First though, a bit of a break

Rlw254......you are a gem for doing all this work for people searching for Italian records. I hope you are a young man since Avellino province has many towns for you to index!!!! It may take years to do them all. Thx so much for all your kind work to help others.
I didn't look at the date of my first post but I notice now it's almost two years to the day to do 1.5 towns in just the 19th century. I never intended to mean I was planning to do the whole province but at this rate I might need a couple more decades to make a dent. In my defense I worked in bursts for a week or two at a time and then ignored the records for a couple months ... rinse and repeat.

Well no matter how many towns you do index or how long it takes, you are doing a great service to all the people who benefit from your hard work. It’s a very generous gesture and greatly appreciated.
Hello again. Checking in to let everyone know that I am now finished with all Montefredane civil registration births (1809-1915) and deaths (1809-1945). I'm going to take care of the last 45 years of marriages and we'll be completely finished with the available records in this town until I can get there in person to photograph parish records (2021? 2022?).
Message me for a copy until I can get the files on this post deleted to clear up bandwith.

You're doing a great service for people. Have you thought about just putting the data on publicly-readable Google Spreadsheets, so it can be pulled up, searched and be useable to people without taking server storage space (or suffering the issues of using PDFs for, well, anything)?
Thank you, and I have thought about it. I think what my plan is instead is donate the collections to the Italianparisgrecords.org website to help out their Avellino section. I should only need another few weeks to finish up marriages through 1945 and we'll be totally finished in this town and can think about the next step.

Hello rlw254,
Thanks again for your diligent translation and transcribing of the Montefredane birth and death records. I am very interested in having a PDF copy sent to me @ jeanne55 on this website. Thanks, Jeanne
My mom and dad came from two very different classes of Italian society. Dad's mom came from a very aristocrat family and mom's came from farmers and agricultural workers. When my mom's parents came to the US, they left their oldest son Giovanni in the care of my maternal grandmother's parents. I hea...
