Re: Do I qualify for dual citizenship--confused about Law 555/1912
Unfortunately, you are unlikely to be eligible through your GGF because he naturalized before July 1st, 1912 and your grandfather was a minor (defined as being under the age of 21 at the time) - based on Italian law at the time he would have lost his citizenship upon the naturalization of his father. If it's something you really want to do, I would recommend that you look into your GGM if she is Italian. Did she ever petition for citizenship herself, or did she obtain citizenship derivationally through marriage to your GGF? If she only obtained US citizenship derivationally, you might talk to an Italian lawyer about a 1948 case. It's my understanding there has been some success in cases like this. If your GGM was American, however, there's likely not a path to citizenship there,
Good luck!

I am JUST staring out, but I found these blog posts that discuss the issue. I do not know how it applies in court, as they only discuss how it impacts consulates.
