Dear friends,
I have been trying to translate my great-grandfather’s Giuseppe Burzio’s birth in the Torino civil registration books. Any help translating the notes written by the registrars would really be gratefully received.

The first notation, dated 29 January 1904, is correcting the father’s surname to Burzio. There was a tribunal hearing on 5 September 1903.
The second notation, dated 23 October 1906, is noting that Giuseppe Gioanni Burzio married Anna Cornaglia, as per Marriage Act No 909, on 30 February 1905, in Torino.
Thank you so much Angela! That’s really interesting. Anna Cornaglia was his first wife and I am hoping I will find a death certificate for her in time. Any idea why a tribunal would be be held? I did note that they mistranscribed the surname on the liste de leva.

You may see that on the birth act the surname was written Bursio. If the correct form was Burzio, for this reason a tribunal was requested to correct the birth act (after 20 years).
The request was probably made by a member of the family, or by the Official of the Comune, or by the Procuratore del Re (Public prosecutor) when someone found the mistake.
