Death Record For Older Matteo Lo Blundo

Post by sbiondo257 »

Could I please get a translation of this record here? There doesn't seem to be much written on it. Any help would be appreciated! I'll include a zoomed version too!

I've never seen this kind of records.
However, my guess is:
"fu m(orto) Mattheo Lo Blu(n)do s(enza) c(confessione) ? dedit ? elemosina"
"Matteo Lo Blundo passed away without confession; alms were given"
As to the numbers at the end of line, I wouldn't know.

@PippoM

@PippoM
Thanks so much for the translation! I believe the date right above it says 19 Feb. 1570?

@mmogno
I would gladly tell you what collection the documents came from if I knew, for I would like to know that myself. I have been finding these records from the family tree's of my distant cousins on Ancestry.com. They don't provide the links for where those documents come from, but I know that many came from familysearch.com. I was never informed that is would be helpful to provide the location of the records, only that I should give the links to the originals if I had them. The only description of this scan for example was, "Santa Maria Nuova Death Record."
I'm not trying to make anything difficult for anyone translating these, but I'm young and I'll admit, an amateur at genealogy. If that type of information helps, I'll be sure to add what I can from now on.

Thanks,
Sal

I think they are here:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/cat ... %20Library

I see the key symbol on all of them, but I tried some, and weren't locked.

@sbiondo257.
Santa Maria Nuova is the Cathedral of Monreale.
Here the link to your document from Family Search:

Secondo me la sigla s.c. si riferisce alla "classe" del funerale e il numero 2 è la "tariffa" corrispondente.
Scorrendo i registri trovi funerali "amore dej", gratuiti.
