Confirmation Record Translation

Post by sbiondo257 »

Hello, could I please get the translation for the top left portion of the record? It's a confirmation record and I think it talks about who confirmed the people that day. Thank you!

The original Latin text reads as follows:

Die vigesimo quarto octobris 1886 Excellentissimus dominus Dominicus Gaspar Luncea ex Ducibus Castri Broli patricius panormitanus iam Episcopus Philadelphiensis amore dei et apostolicae sedis gratia sanctae metropolitanae ecclesiae civitatis Montis Regalis Archiepiscopus et Abbas [illeggible] ingressum Primae faerae visitationis in hac Matrici Ecclesia sacramentum confirmationis administravi [illeggible]

"In the 24th day of October 1886 the most excellent master Dominic Gaspar Luncea, of the Dukes of Brolo, Patrician of Palermo and Bishop of Filadelfia, (for the) love of God and the Grace of the Apostolic See Archbishop and Abbot (of the) Holy Metropolitan Church in the City of Monreale, on his first entry in this Church administered the Sacrament of Confirmation…"

That's all I can make out of it.
