Another Valente family

Post by SvendOle »

Hi

I am new here, and I try to find my Italian family.
My name is Svend Ole Valente, and my family here in Norway has not been very active at searching for foreign family. Therefore I have questions :
My father Is Odd Johannes Valente, and my grandfather was Antonio Valente, who died 46 years old, so I have never met him. He had a brother - Gerardo - who emigrated to Sweden, and lived his life there.
I'm told that Antonio and Gerardo further had both a sister ( Maria, I think) and a brother, who's name no-one
can remember. Rumors says that this "unknown" brother settled in Russia.
The parents of this 4 siblings is :
Father: Domenico Valente - Mother : Santa Valente (birthname Iaconelli)

This Valente family was from San Biagio, Sarasinisco
Can anyone confirm that Domenico and Santa had 4 children ?
Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm looking forward to answers

Regards
Svend Ole Valente, Norway

Both civil and parish records of San Biagio were destroyed in WW2. Only records before 1865 exist except for those reconstructed by people still living in the area after 1946. Do you have any dates that would help.

From the "Ruoli Matricolari" I found Gerardo Valente, of Domenico and Santa Iaconelli, who was born in San Biagio on the 06/08/1900.

Thank You very much
I had this, and I have Gerardo and Antonio, who were brothers, and Antonio was my grandfather, "under control." :-)
My present "mystery" is that I know that Santa and Domenico had 4 children.
I know nothing about Antonio and Gerardo siblings.

I have been researching my family looking into getting Italian citizenship. Maria Valente was married to Antonio Iaconelli or Yaconelli as it is in the America. I have she was born around 1854 in San Biagio Sarancinisco. She is listed as Anna Yaconelli's mother and Carlo Yaconelli's mother in law on ship manifest and marriage certificates. Does this help? I have more information if you need it.
