Vatican research helper?

Post by dannyjosa »

The Consulate will only process my application if the Vatican release my ancerstor's baptism record, he was baptised in St. Peter's Basilica. They have told me that they have this record but also said they refuse to release it. They refused because :
1.they think it has no civil value so they don't need to release it
2.it is in a bad state of repair, so they don't wish to release it
*Additionally, their rejection message says 'we note your Catholic ancestor left the faith and joined the protestants'. I don't know if that is a 3rd reason for non compliance!

Does anyone have any good leads, researchers, lawyers, that might be able to assist in this?

Thanks!

For future people, Upwork.com had a fantastic array of freelancer Legal assistants in Rome. Some of whom have now helped me. Ciao!

So, were they able to get the record released to you? Maybe you want to recommend the individual who assisted you?
