Tormena family and winery

Dear friends,

I'm traveling in Italy right now with a group of friends and one of them got really surprised to see that there's a winery/farm with her family's name. She wants to know if the owners are somehow related to her.

Her great-great-grandfather is Celeste Giovanni Tormena, born in 1882 in Cornuda.

Is there a way to find this info?

I'd say that with Cornuda being less than 10km away from the farm/winery, the likelihood is pretty high. You could probably go to the Cornuda city hall and look for information, or to the Catholic church closest to the main piazza in town and look for baptismal records.

I think you better ask at the winery, before, if they know the names of their ancestors, and/or it is told in their family of someone who emigrated.

The surname Tormena is very common near Vidor, the land of Prosecco ....
