Sorry..I was too interested in seeing the translation...grandfather. not great grandfather, his son was Joseph Montebello, my father.

Il sottoscritto Deputato della Congregazione di Carità, incaricato della esposizione dei Bambini Projetti in mancanza di Ospizio in questo Comune, dichiara, che alle ore tre antimeridiane del giorno ventuno maggio milleottocentosessantasette fu raccolto un Bambino di sesso maschile dell'apparente età di giorno uno, il quale non avea né segni, né contrassegni, ed era involto in panni di tela bianca, né si trovarono presso lo stesso oggetti di sorta. Al detto Bambino venne dato il nome di Felice, ed il cognome di Montebello e fu scritto al numero di ordine undici il giorno ventuno Maggio milleottocentosessantasette.

The baby had the apparent age of one day, had neither signs nor markings, and was wrapped in white canvas cloths, nor an object of any kind was found nearby. The said Child was given the name of Felice, and the surname of Montebello and was written to the number 11 on May 21, 1867.

So from this translation, the child was abandoned (or a foundling) and both a first name and last name were given to him?
Amazing. Our family lore said the name "Montebello" was selected by my grandfather when he came to America to get away from his parents. Which is all untrue.
