Illegible margin entry Artena death act

Post by MarcuccioV »

Can anyone decipher what is written here..? I've tried and can't quite make it out other than it looks like the last 2 words are "di Valmontone"...

It's really written very badly, but I
understand it's a note of verification of the register, that is not related to the act nearby.
I read:
Visto regolare il 3? settembre 189.? dal sottoscritto Pretore del Mandamento di Valmontone.

I can't argue, but it's from a death act in Artena (neighboring commune to Valmontone)...

Death act is dated 8/26/1895.

Yes, this notes were written somewhere in the register, in this case in this place at the left of the act, because there were room, but it's not related to the act.
At intervals of a certain number of months, the registers were inspected to verify if written correctly by the Official of the Comune.
This control was made by the Pretore (a judge) , the Mandamento was the area of competence of the Pretore, that is a certain number of comuni around Valmontone.

Makes sense -- I've just never encountered it before (especially in Valmontone records)...
