Registered in Caltanissetta on 7 May 1902

Appearing were Michele Bruno, 58 yo, custode (caretaker), and Caterina Rimonda, 46 yo, casalinga (domestic), both living in Caltanissetta, who reported that at 9 am yesterday (6 May), in Via Giammaria, No 47, died Salvatore La Luca, 49 yo, zolfaio (sulphur miner), born and residing Caltanissetta, son of the deceased Calogero, a contadino, who had lived in Caltanissetta, and of Maria Rosa Giunta, a casalinga (domestic), living in Caltanisetta. He was the husband of Maria Rosa Volpe.

Witnesses to the registration proceedings were Bartolo Pisella, 53 yo and Giovanni Montaldo 52 yo, both gravediggers.

Happy to help, Joe. I completely understand. The script in your records takes a bit of getting use to - it's not the easiest script. The great thing is that you are locating the records which can also be a mission!!!

Thank Angela. I am trying, This may be a dumb question but I do have a Question(for you or anyone that may know). Do you know if there is an easy way to get to the indexes on the Antenati site or do you just have to go page by page until you get to the index? It would be nice if there was a link directly to the indexes. Thanks

It depends on where the indexes are -- some are at the beginning of a register, although most are at the end.

Once you have found the register you want, find the toolbar above it with all the icons. Above that, you will see 3 more icons: One that looks like an open book, 3 dots & a screen maximizer. Click on the first one (that looks like an open book) & it will bring up a page of generic thumbnails (with the Antenati logo). You can double-click on any of those to bring up that page in the register. Since the towns I research usually have the index at the end, I guesstimate (based on the total # of pages in that register) where the index should be. If it's a register that covers 2 or more years, I calculate where I think the index should be for that year and then toggle page-by-page from there.

Not perfect, but it does get you there quicker. Practice makes perfect; I'm pretty good at hitting the indexes within a page or two now...
