Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me.
This is the second time I've come across this surname (I am sure it's the same one) in my bf's family tree. This is from Corleto/Corleto Perticara in Potenza, Basilicata.
This is the marriage registration for Carlo Massaro and Maria Teresa Montemurro.
It's Maria's mother I'm interested in. It looks like Felicia Pintopi. There are lots of Pintos in this family tree, but I've never come across this one before.

This is the pubblicazioni for the same marriage:
It's even harder to read here.

Now finally, I was looking at a different branch in the tree and found the death registration for Anna Gallicchio. It states her parents are Antonio, and Maddalena Pintoppi (or something of that nature).

I have looked at this website a few times and the name I think it is isn't in this database, which makes me wonder if I've got it wrong.

When you google Pintopi/Pintoppi nothing much comes up either so I'm quite confused!
Can anyone please help? Thank you!

Re: Hard to read surname, Pintopi?
I believe the surname is "Pintozzi", a name that appears in Corleto.
Edit to Add:
Initially I read "Pintossi" which appears in other regions, but when I looked further I could only see "Pintozzi" in Basilicata and in the second record you have posted the spelling clearly looks to be "Pintozzi". If you search through some of the indices in the town it should become clear as to which is the correct spelling.

Oh Angela GRAZIE MILLE !! Now that you've said that, I see it so clearly. It's also a name that I have seen around on other records from Corleto (as opposed to Pintossi, which seems to be a last name prevalent in northern Italy). Legend, thanks again!AngelaGrace56 wrote: 15 Jan 2022, 08:07 I believe the surname is "Pintozzi", a name that appears in Corleto.
