Post by poliquie »

I am trying to piece together our Mazza family from Torre Del Greco. Unfortunately I dont have alot to work with, so I can trying to look at all documents that include the family name Mazza. Whatever you can offer in translation would be greatly appreciated. I am mainly looking for Parent names, bride/groom and whatever date info you can retrieve.... Thanks for your help :D

I will have multiple posts over time, and I will try to do them in smaller chunks.

The first marriage record reads as follows:

On February 10th, 1902 at 8:05 am in the City Hall of Torre del Greco, in front of the Mayor Crescenzo de Vito appeared:

- Vincenzo Accardo, bachelor, aged 25, shopkeeper, born and residing in Torre del Greco, son of the late Carmine and Anna Scognamiglio

and

- Margarita Mazza, spinster, aged 27, housewife, born and residing in Torre del Greco, daughter of the late Leonardo and of Angela Balbi, residing in Torre del Greco.

Which asked to be united in marriage, and to this purpose submitted the required documents. Therefore the groom and the bride were asked if they intended to marry each other, and having both parties answered affirmatively in front of the witnesses, they were pronounced husband and wife in the name of the law. The ceremony was witnessed by Francesco Sorrentino, aged 35, shopkeeper, and by Crescenzo Mazza, aged 34, shopkeeper.
