Birth Records for Castelvecchio Subequo for 1866 to 1910

Post by CaptainCatholic »

Hi everyone! Does anyone know where to find birth, marriage and death records for the town of Castelvecchio Subequo in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo for the years of 1866 to 1910?

I found records for this town from 1809 to 1865 here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/ima ... %3D1937372 But I can't seem to find records for 1866 to 1910?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Got it, thank you Ann! Although it is a shame they don't have the records online. (And strange that they have 1809 to 1865 online... but not 1866 to 1910).

Is the only way to access the records at a town office to go there in person, or do town offices send photos of records via email? (I'd be happy to pay any associated fees!).

I was going to email them to see (I think this is their contact information): https://www.castelvecchio-subequo.it/index.php?id=38

Thanks so much for your help!!

There is an e-mail address at the link you posted and another is this
anagrafecvs@virgilio.it

for the competent office of
Castelvecchio Subequo.
Yes, presently many requests to Italian public offices may be made by mail, particularly now due to Covid.

Records after 1866 have not yet been published.
If you need a photo of the register for your info about the genealogy of a family, you should ask a 'copia integrale' of the birth/marriage/death act : you should explain the reason of the request (ex. : study of the genealogy of that family), tell if you are a descendant , if not it is better to enclose a proxy of a person of that family, add also the copy of an Identity document.
These copies or certificates of act of Stato Civile are made without any tax or payment and sent by e-mail.

The only problem may be if you want a copy made on paper and sent by mail
(as requested by consulates for request of Italian citizenship) ; in this case some towns ask a payment for postage, others pay themselves.
However if you need it for an administrative purpose (citizenship, or a request to an office of your Country) you should ask a certificate with the data copied from the original act ; this can be made also on a plurilingual form if should be presented to a foreign Authority.

Hi cedrone! Thank you so much for all of your help, I sincerely appreciate it!! I just sent an email to the email address you found, as well as the one from the other website I found. I asked for a "copia integrale" of two birth records, mentioning that I am a relative. Good to know that an emailed copy of the records is without cost!

Thanks so much again for your help!

The town offices require the copy of an Identity Document of the person who makes the request. Without it it's possible they don't reply.
Ex : if you are in Argentina send the DNI; in the USA it may be a Driving Licence or an Identity Card of your State or a Federal Document.
