Translating Marriage Certificate - Teodolinda Menozzi

Post by deigo1 »

Hello could someone help with the translations of Teodolinda's marriage information from 1890 in Virgilio. I'm also hoping I'm reading her first name correctly, as I can tell she is the daughter of Domenico (Menozzi) and Pasqua Zanella.

Marriage No 12: Cesare Verati and Teodolinda Menozzi

Virgilio: 7 April 1890

Groom: Cesare Verati, 31 yo, bifolco (farm labourer), born in Formigosa, residing in Virgilio, the son of Antonio Verati, a contadino, residing in Virgilio, and of the deceased Virginia Pedrazzoli, who had resided in Cerese when living.

Bride: Teodolinda Menozzi, 24 yo, casalinga, born in Cerese, residing in Virgilio, the daughter of the deceased Domenico Menozzi, who had resided in Cerese when living, and of the deceased Pasqua Zanella, who had also resided in Cerese when living.

Then it just gives the dates the marriage banns were posted, which I’ll include on the next translation.

The following may need some tweaking.

In the following record the grooms surname is spelt with two “r’s” In the town of Roncoferraro, the spelling “Verati” seems to be the correct spelling?

Marriage Pubblication No 5: Cesare Giuseppe Verrati and Teodolinda Menozzi

Virgilio: 12 January 1890

Appearing were before the official were:

Cesare Giuseppe Verrati, 31 yo, bifolco (farm labourer), residing in Virgilio, son of Antonio Verrati, 70 yo, contadino, residing in Virgilio, and of Virginia Pedrazzoli, a casalinga (domestic), living in this town

and

Teodolinda Doralice Menozzi, 24 yo casalinga, residing in Virgilio, daughter of the deceased Domenico Menozzi, and of the deceased Pasqua Zanella, both contadini who had lived their life in Virgilio when living.

The documents presented were the birth acts of the groom and bride, received from the Parish in Formigosa, Roncoferraro, dated 6 January 1890, and the Parish of Cerese dated 5 January 1890, and a copy of the Death Act of Luigia Rasoli, wife of Cesare Giuseppe Verrati, dated here today.

Left Column gives the days that the banns were posted on the door of the town hall:
The first was on Sunday, 19 January 1890 for a week, and the second was posted on Sunday, 26 January 1890, and remained affixed to the door until 31 January 1890.

Thank you Angela!

I wasn't expecting her to be so young, she must have been the baby. The brothers that I know of being born in the late 1840's / early 1850's.
