Help with Milano Civil Marriage Record

Post by Waterlilly67 »

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to locate a civil marriage record from Milano in 1927. The birth record is from Tempio Sardinia for Bernardino Demuro it lists Milano as the civil marriage registration, the date of registration was 2 Nov 1927 and his wife's name Elena Grahame Wait then says the record is entry 78, p 2C.

When I looked at what the LDS library has filmed for Milano, they do have 1927 civil marriage records for Milano, but they only have p 1, p 2A and p 2B filmed but for some reason they don't have p 2C filmed.

I will attach his birth record for you to see what I am referencing. I may be reading it wrong as I am new to Italian genealogy.

Any help in figuring out where I can look to find the marriage record would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Rachel

Hi
As a first step you can write a mail to 020202@comunedimilano

Add a photo of your personal identification and a photo of the birth record of of Bernardino and state your request and the reason for it,
Better ask for "Estratto integrale dell'Atto di Matrimonio" that has more info than a simple certificate
I don't know if they can process a request for a marriage that happened near a century ago, but it is worth a try, And they can help you with the next steps

Paola,

Thank you so much for your reply! I will send an email to them and hope they can at least help me locate how to get a copy of the marriage record.

I confirm what said by Paola.
Only the Ufficio di Stato Civile of the Comune can send copies and certificates of the acts.
So as said ask a 'copia integrale' (that is a photo as those on Family Search) of the marriage act, it must be sent by e-mail without any payment.
This if you need for studying your family, if you need a certificate to ask Italian citizenship it is different.
I'll look also if the act is present on Family Search, probably not as the act of Milano are published very partially.

I didn't found the email address given by Paola.
It seems the Comune di Milano now does all online.
Try this link to register and receive a mail from the Comune, then you may send a message:

This is to ask the documents

Stato civile: estratti ed atti integrali (nascita, morte, matrimonio) - Comune di Milano
https://www.comune.milano.it/servizi/es ... -integrali

( you should understand how it works and enclose the copies of your documents).
