I had a question that somewhat crosses between translation and genealogy. I'm trying to find the birth of a grandparent Maria Corrao in Messina around 1883 or 1884. Through the marriage certificate in NY I was able to locate the parents name, which led to finding the documents below. There seems to be different ways of writing Corrao (at least to me) sometimes it appears almost with a "u" on the end at other times it almost looks like it is written Currao. Even the marriage cert of the parents, without the birth certs I'm not certain it was accurate.. given the entry of how the name written in the registry appears like (Corrau) and then towards the bottom it is written again as Currao. I'm wondering if I missing something that is hindering me reading things correct to locate the birth cert.

Re: Translation help
I read "Corrau" everywhere, except the signature "Currao".
Don't worry about the accuracy of surnames: they weren't formalized enough at that time, and were affected by the dialectal or italian spelling.
