Jure Sanguinis - GF & GM Marriage Record

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Jure Sanguinis - GF & GM Marriage Record

Post by JonJCurtoJr »

Hello,

I am having trouble finding the marriage records for my paternal grandfather and grandmother for our Italian citizenship application.

My grandfather was born December 20, 1883 (or December 24, 1885) in Acri, Italy and my grandmother was born January 1, 1892 in Rose, Consenza, Italy.

They were both settled in NYC by 1906 and had their first child (my father) in 1911. I have now searched all Boroughs through NYC for the years 1906-1909.

My grandfather's name: Natale Salvatore Curto
My grandmother's name: Maria (Marietta, Marie) (middle names: Sofia Amalia) Aquila

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Here's a link to the birth record of Maria Sofia Amalia Aquila, born in Rose, 11 January 1892 (No.3):
https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali. ... 47/La14yJk

and here for the birth of Natale Curto, born in Acri, 20 December 1883 (No. 481).

Looking for marriage record still.

Edit to add: I checked Acri births for 1884 and 1885, and found no entry for Natale Curto in those years.
