Finding the correct diocese contact

Post by deigo1 »

I'm trying to locate the correct place to email the Diocese in Bologona to request a death record of my great-great grandfather. The commune he lived in so far has been silent for months for the request....he was a resident in Gaggio Montano.

From prior research I was able to locate his baptismal certificate in his marriage documentation.

The translation indicated this was from the parish of San Michele. The stamp from the parish I think aligns to this church "Chiesa dei Santi Michele Arcangelo e Nazario"

Thanks,
D.

If you do not know the date of death it is difficult for the municipality or parish to do a search for you. However, death certificates from 1866 to 1950 are online.

Thank you for the assistance.

The best information I have is that in 1932 his wife and his son died a few months apart. Based on the records (listed below) it was translated that he was living, making him ~ 82 at this time. The death records go to 1936 online, and I was not able to locate him in those listings. Finding a few of his other siblings death records, a I did see ones that made it in to their 80's, his older brother died at age 85. I only mention that because I haven't saw many others in my family living that long in this time period.

Do you think with sharing this information around him being alive in 1932 based on civil records, and not found in civil archive records online through 1936 would be enough for the church to narrow the search down given his age?

Son:: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947797

Thank you,

mmogno, thank you for the assistance through your diocsese link I was able to find the email of the parish priest, and in just a few days he was able to send me a digital copy of the death record.

It was translated here: https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/topic/53057

Thank you,
D.
