Translating Marriage Certificate - Credi and Passini

Post by deigo1 »

Hello could someone help me with the translation of this record that was provided by the diocese. It is the marriage of Giuseppe Credi and Elisbetta Passini from 1822.

It does look like Credi is written with an "a" vs an "i" at the end. I know in this time period the surnames were a bit flex, looking through civil indexes all the surnames end in i and even Giuseppe's death record. Is that a possibility here?

Thank you
D.

Date: Apr 24, 1822
Groom: Giuseppe, son of deceased Giambattista Creda, and of Maria Ruggeri
Bride: Elisabetta, daughter of Gian Antonio Passini and Antonia Bernabei, both deceased
All from this Parish

And yes, surnames were very flex

Thank you as always Pippo! I guess that answers the question from the other post that Gian Antonio's name was indeed that. The more good news was diocese was able to find the marriage allegati that included Elisbetta's and Giuseppe's extracted baptism records I'll post them separately here.
