Marriage Record Help

Post by Rebecca0879 »

Left hand side, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

I know the town most of the record happens in is Trabia. Husband and Wife are Gaspare LoCicero and Maria Butera. Gaspare's mom is Giuseppa Sanfilippio. The rest I'm not sure. Are the other parents listed? All of the writing at the bottom .... anything important?

Any help at all that can assist me in getting to the next stage of my research would be infinately appreciated.

Your post here has only just appeared on the forum. Here's the translation and some extra records.

Marriage No 41: Gaspare Lo Cicero and Maria Butera

Trabia: 2 November 1893

Groom: Gaspare Lo Cicero, 22 yo, ferraio (blacksmith), born and residing Trabia, son of Battista Lo Cicero and of Giuseppa Sanfilippo, who resided in Trabia.

Bride: Maria Butera, 21 yo, casalinga (domestic), born in and residing in Trabia, daughter of the deceased Giuseppe Butera, and of Rosa Chiavetta, residing Trabia.

The writing at the bottom record mentions when the banns were posted, the first on 15 October, the second on 22 October. It says that the groom’s parents gave permission for the marriage to proceed. It also notes that three children had been born to this couple, and that they were being legitmised. The first was born on 10 July 1889, named Gaspare Butera, the second on 10 October 1891, named Giovan Battista, the third on 2 August 1893 who was given the name Giuseppe Lo Cicero

1889 Birth: Gaspare Butera son of Maria Butera: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

(Father’s name not given, just says born from her union with a single man, not related to her in anyway etc. Maria Butera, the mother registered the birth.)

1891 Birth Giovan Battista Lo Cicero:

(Gaspare Lo Cicero reported the birth and Maria Butera was present at the registration.)

1893 Birth Giuseppe Lo Cicero: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

Once again Gaspare Lo Cicero reported the birth and Maria Butera was present at the registration.
