cardoni

Post by kita144 »

Looking for a birth record for Josephine Cardoni B. 7/17/1912 in Gubbio.
Parents were Caesar Cardoni and Carmen Melletti
Just looking for an actual record of the birth to prove she was born in Gubbio. Half her documents say US and half say Italy.
Thank you!

This should be the record here:

Birth No 649: Giuseppa Cardoni
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=758017

She was born on 18 July 1912 to Carmela Meletti daughter of Stanislao (Meletti) and Cesare Cardoni, son of the deceased Giuseppe (Cardoni).

Let us know if you would like it further translated.

With some of these records, they might appear locked initially, but if you click on the link anyway, they generally unlock. I've downloaded a copy to my laptop in case you have any issues.

Lol-brilliant. Well that solves that debate! I would love it translated if it isn't a problem-I get the basics but not the full thing.
Thank you

Birth No 649: Giuseppa Cardoni
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=758017

Registered in the town of Gubbio on 22 July 1912

Appearing was Filomena Minelli daughter of Andrea, 50 yo massaia (housewife/domestic) living in Gubbio. She reported that at 2 pm on 18 of the current month (so 18 July 1912), in the house in Borgo Piaggiola, No 35, was born from Carmela Meletti, also a massaia, the daughter of Stanislao (Meletti), and (from) Cesare Cardoni, a bracciante (day labourer), the son of Giuseppe (Cardoni), who both lived in Gubbio, a baby girl who was not presented to the official, and was given the name Giuseppa.

The other names there are the witnesses to the registration, who were at the town hall that day.

Then there is just a note at the bottom to say that the birth was not registered by the father as he was absent from the town, neither was the baby presented to the official, (as was normally done) due to health reasons.

(A borgo would be like a little village/hamlet.)

One other question.
Filomena Minelli is Carmen Mellettis mother in law.
Can I assume Andrea is her mother? (Filomena's)
Thanks!

My absolute pleasure kita 144 :D I like all the details as well. If you have any others you would like translated just post them here or on "translations" section. I am happy to take a look later in the day when I have a bit more free time.

Sorry, we must have been posting at the same time.

Andrea was Filomena Minelli's father, not mother. It doesn't give her relationship to Carmen there. I've got a little boy coming to spend the day with me today, and he is going to arrive any time now, so I need to child proof my house. I'll come back to this later in the day. But yes I'd say she was born circa 1862.

Cheers.
