Translation help

Post by Calendi »

I thought I posted this but I don't see it now, so I'm sorry if it's duplicated. I'm hoping someone can help me translate the entry for Ugo Calendi. I've attached screenshots and have tried picking our as much as I can on my own but I'm at a loss now.

Any help is appreciated!!

Hello. Welcome to the forum!!!

I've basically extracted the vital info for you here:

Birth No 91 Ugo Calendi
Registered in Prato on 19 January 1872 but born on 9 March 1871, 8 am
His father was Luigi Calendi, son of Antonio Calendi, a 27 yo, Cenciaio (street vendor of old/used rags?), who resided in Prato. His mother was Luisa Cai, Luigi’s wife, 33 yo, Tessitrice (weaver), living with him. Ugo was born in the home they lived in a house in via Banchelli, Prato. He was presented to the official and given the name of Ugo.

The other names there, who appeared with Luigi, were the witnesses Natale Monticelli, 67 yo, town clerk, and Torello Bini, 26 yo, cenciaio, who resided in Prato.

Here’s the link to the online record: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 33/wWl1MOj
If the link doesn’t take you straight to the record it is on page 45 of 212.

Obviously, it is a late birth registration. Maybe someone else can fill in any gaps I’ve not grasped, concerning the Tribunal. Some of the words mentioned I don’t know or can't decipher.
