Translation Request Marriage Certificate Thanks

Post by Glnk »

Hi
Please help if you can.
I know the husband was Dominic Fasso and wife Margaret Zaffiniani (spelling?).
But I can not understand dates and full names on everyone and locations etc.
Thank you !

This is a duplicate thread which has been addressed here: https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/topic/54314

I am also reading Zaffiniani and it looks like Margherita (is how she spells her given name - different to how the scribe wrote it) has also written Zaffiniani. I think she had originally placed a "g" in her name but has crossed it out. I can't find any evidence of that surname though. I don't know where you got this record from but it's not the greatest read and contains inconsistencies. There are some very early records on line at the antenati site and you could look through those to see if the surname existed. You could also try writing to the church and asking whether they could send you a clearer copy along with any marriage attachments - processetti, which would contain bride's birth record etc. It's just a thought. Someone could help you with the correct address etc.

Wonderful. This is a much better image. I'm not sure I'm convinced though that the name is Zaffignani. I know that Erudita thought it probably was as well. Would the bride's baptism record be on line as well. I'm having optical illusions today. I'm still reading her surname differently and I can't work out her birth town.
