Translation of Birth Record - Antonino Gandolfo

Post by Road2Gandolfo »

I have attempted to translate another birth record. This one was a bit different from the others I've worked on. Can someone review and correct anything I translated incorrectly? I hope it is not too bad

Name: Antonino Gandolfo
Page: 318

Document was found within the marriage allegati

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 59/04zmEQ2

I also found his original birth record at the link below.

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 89/LDr8ORG

Province of Trapani, Municipality of Marsala, Civil Status Office, Extract from the register of birth certificates of Gandolfo Antonino, N. 610.

In the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, on the thirty-first of March, at nine o'clock and thirty minutes (a.m.), in the communal house. Before me, Paolo Pugliese, Secretary at the third division, delegated by an Act on 31 July 1892 already approved Civil Status Officer of the Municipality of Marsala, appeared Arini Angela, aged thirty, housewife, domiciled in Marsala, who declared to me that at one o'clock (a.m.) on the thirty-first of the current month, in the house located in Via Cappuccini, no number given, from Arini Francesca, wife of Gandolfo Vincenzo, aged thirty, carter, both domiciled here. A male child was born who she? showed to me, and to whom she? gave the name Antonino.

Present as witnesses to the above and to this act were Rosa Arini, aged twenty-eight, housewife, and Irba Rosa, aged twenty-eight, housewife, both residents of this Municipality.

The registrant, having witnessed the birth from Arini Francesca, in place of the latter's husband, who was unable to report it because it prevented him from carrying out the duties of his trade or job?

Having read this document to those present, they all said they did not know how to write, so it was signed by me only.

Your translation of the birth record is excellent! Minor suggestions include replacing from with by for better flow and using acting on behalf of for clarity.
