Italian Ancestors who migrated to Russia in 1870's and then returned to Italy.

Post by canavese1879 »

Basically two of my Italian ancestors were born in Castellamonte in 1836 and 1845. The next record I have of them is a death record of their child in 1878 in Castellamonte at age 6 months old. However, it lists his birth date as Halina or Kalina, Russia. (image is attached). It does say the father was an impresario so that could explain why they travelled to Russia but I would be keen to find out more about why Italians might have gone to Russia in that time period and how to find records of their child's birth in Russia. I also know they had another child in Russia as he later emigrated to the USA as an adult. Most of his records list his birth as the Soviet Union or Russia, nationality as Italian and have a birth date of around the 1st February 1874.
