Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

How to find records of people leaving America

Post by rp76226 »

I have multiple people on my tree who came to America through Ellis Island, returned to Italy, then came back to America through Ellis Island. It is easy to find their records of arriving at Ellis Island. How do you find records of their departure from America?

Actually a different question than my post. Might get a better result if it was its own post. Suggest that you go to Antenati records for Corleone, start with your grandfather's birth year, and go backwards year by year until you find the marriage record of your great great grandparents. That would have the maiden name of the bride, plus the parents of both the bride and the groom.
If you are not familiar with Antenati, you want to become familiar with it to do Italian research. Best to use the Firefox browser when looking it up, Here is the link:

Specifically for Corleone marriage records, use the link, then click on "expand (127)" under year.
