Grandparents

Post by telena »

I am trying to find information of my grandfathers property of many years ago. I am planning a trip to Gualtieri Sicamuno in the fall. Would like to know where to start my search. Family is trying to trace our family roots. I know he had a large Olive Grove, grapes etc. all I have are papers in Italian which I do not speak or u derstand. His name was Nicola Curro. Property was transferred in 1974 to my Uncle Philip Curro.
Would appreciate any help to get my trip planned.
Thank you

A good start might be to post some of your docs - maybe in the "Italian language, handwriting , script & translations" Section? - here. Also, pertinent dates.

I've searched a ton in that vicinity (Gualtieri Sicamuno is between Santa Lucia del Mela and Saponara "as the crow flies") in Messina. You're in luck such that there are good records from between 1825 and 1910 online.

Happy hunting...
