I'm doing some research into my paternal line and I've been unable to find much of anything in terms of Italian records for this couple. I've spent a good chunk of time for about 6 months searching every which way I can think of, but I think my inexperience with both genealogy and Italian records is hindering me. Most of the resources I've found suggest that the couple is from Turin (some records say Torino), as well as at least one of their children.
For anyone interested in specifics, I'm looking at Domenico/Dominick Poggio, GTNG-PGK on Family Search, and Maria Visconti, GTNP-MZM on Family Search.
I've looked for them using a variety of spellings for their names, varying dates of birth, marriage, etc., and I've looked for the 3 children of theirs that seem to have been born in Italy.
I have a copy of one of their daughters' (Frances) SSN applications and it just says Turin. Another daughter's (Lena) obit. says she was born in "Terravina" (which doesn't seem to be a place, and I don't know what else it could be). When I search for Domenico on ancestry when not logged in, it shows "Rieti, Lazio, Italy" but when I'm logged in that doesn't show for me.
If I go with the most common option and look for records in Turin, it looks like there are 300 or more comuni to choose from. If I try Torino within there, Antenati only has some info from the 1810s (if my memory serves - it's definitely a couple of years that don't match what I'm searching).
Of course I'm interested if anyone who wants to research for funsies, but I would just really love some advice on how to proceed with this search. I don't know how to narrow things down to the right comune or how to otherwise find records on these people to be able to continue to trace things backward.

Re: Need Research Advice
There are no civil records for Torino and area before 1866 except for the few years 1809-1814 when Napoleon was in power. You will need a parish records search for the gap.
To locate the town of origin you will need the ship manifest and/or naturalization record (I assume you are in America)
Search my blog (link below) for hints on Finding the town of origin.

And this is the 1900 PA census showing they had at least 2 daughters, both possibly born in PA. Lines 9 and following.

"Terravina" based on other information you supplied, a very good possibility is Terracina, frazione of town of Accumoli, Rieti province, Lazio.
