Help finding information on ancestors
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could assist me in finding information regarding my Italian ancestors.
#1: I would like help find information about the parents of Antonio Berardino Ruscetti (1883-1971), he was born in Cansano. I can't kind any information about his parents or extended ancestry, so any help would be appreciated.
#2: I would also like help regarding the parents and ancestry of Ciro Giordano (1855-unk)(born in Palermo, Sicily) and his wife Carmela Castellano (1875-1956)(born around Cosenza, Calabria).
I have very limited information on the ancestry of these three people, so any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Hello!
This is a ship manifest for Maria Carmela Castellano, on Jun 10, 1908, going to join husband Ciro Giordano (see following image) with daughters Maria and Carmela:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 04&lang=it
She was from San Fili, province of Cosenza
Edit to add: reading more carefully, they were daughters of a former husband

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
This MIGHT be her first marriage
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 52/0nkdeZn
as here her mother's name is reported as "Puzzo" rather than "Gizzi" as you can read on the manifest.
On the other hand, husband's surname "Iaconetti" seems to be written for her daughters in the manifest

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
This case is getting weirder...I ask for help from home!
This is the birth of Maria Giuseppa Iaconetti in 1895
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 39/5Y4Pl13
and this is the birth of Vittoria Maria Francesca Iaconetti in 1900:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 44/0JZvPK2
So, ages match those on the manifest, but names don't, or only partially do.
In 1900, Antonio Iaconetti was away, in "America"

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
I couldn't find Carmela Castellano's second marriage, nor her first husband's death in San Fili, after 1900
Can you post any document you have about Ciro Giordano?

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
Hi, thanks for all of your help thus far!
Here is Ciro's birth record: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 02/wOaJ6mG
Ciro immigrated to the US (Colorado) in either 1882/3, here are his census reports from 1900,10, and 20:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQMX-9B8
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MK48-K2P
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MXL3-66K
I didn't know her first name was Maria! All of my records has her as Carmela, including on the census reports. FamilySearch has her immigration date as June 24, 1908, however, I don't have any proof of this. I'll do some more research.
Thank you so much for all of your help again!

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
Also, I seem to have found Maria Carmela Castellano's record on FamilySearch (code GN2L-RTR), however, while the dates and location are applicable, the Carmela Castellano record I have is different (code 96YB-8TB) and have different children. My direct ancestor from her, Jennie Giordano, also does not support Vittoria as a sibling.
Re: Help finding information on ancestors
Take a look at 1910 Census. It reports 3 daughters: Mary, Victoria, and Marie.

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
It seems like Vittoria only appears on the 1910 census for some reason, so I wonder if both of the FamilySearch record could be combined?
As for Pietro, I saw him on the tree, however, that's the only information I have about him, no dates, records, or further ancestry.

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
If you mean the 1910 and 1920 Censuses, yes, they can.
The three daughters in 1910 census might have married (the older ones) or passed away before 1920.
Also, I want to point out that Italians do not have middle names.
So, mother's first name was "Maria Carmela". As it often happens, she might have been familiarly called just "Carmela".

Re: Help finding information on ancestors
How sure are you them being the same person? Should I change it on FamilySearch?
