I am looking for information on Stefano Calandrelli, Married to Elvira Boccanera, her sister Irena Boccanera married to Augusto Bonanni, all from L'aquila, teramo,crognoleto,cesacastina areas, who ended up in Niagara Falls, NY. They were my great-grandparents.

Yes, That is the correct family - I am trying to find out more about the family left in Italy. Stefano was born 5/8/1877, and I believe he did live on 20th St then. Thank you for your help I hope to hear from you again.

Hi Anne,

To trace the family in Crognaleto, you can order/rent the films for the civil registries of this town, done the LDS Church (Mormans). These films are for 1809-1910 & include birth, marriage & death acts.

There is Facebook group for Cesacastina. It had about 140 members in 12/2008. Good source of information for anyone gathering information about this lovely village. The postings are in Italian.

There is also and English language site dedicated to the town.
