Very happy to find this page! Ran into dead end on Ancestry.com- My great grandmother and great grandfather were William and Teresa Nasonti and trying to build my family tree and hit dead ends beyond them, I knew it was going to be a name change thing! It's been some time since these posts, but thanks for opening those doors to me!

My grandfather's name is Antonino Guiffrida Nasonte. FAmily story was original surname was Guiffrida and on Ellis Island they posted it as Nasonte (maybe nickname?). He immigrated from Sant'Agata, Sicily around 1900 are resided in Cleveland Ohio. Searching ancestry.com and many other records I get stopped going any further in time at him. Recent searched I found the attached reference for a Biagio Guiffrida (Nasonte) on a passenger manifest.

Cut/Paste and review line number 1 . May be your Biagio or even find we could be relatives.

Good Luck Dennis Nasont

I think that your Antonino Guiffrida Nasonte wasn't born in Sant'Agata di Militello I checked 1886-1890 births he was born in Militello Rosmarino

Birth record of Antonino Guiffrida Nasonte
1889 Jan 15th in the town of Militello Rosmarino birth of Antonino Guiffrida Nasonte son of Salvatore Guiffrida Nasonte age 56 farmer and Angela Frusteri Chiacchiera

I've since gotten the line back to the mid 1700s for the Giuffrida Nasonte family---a lot of good ancestry was (NOT!) Salvatore was my 3rd great grandfather's (Biagio) brother.

I don't think you have this- early Christmas, very early...

My grandparents were Biagio and Teresa Battisti Nasonti of Bellevue, Ohio. Biagio was born in Militello Rosmarino, Sicily and emigrated to the US when he was 15. I have naturalization records for Biagio. Am searching for any naturalization records on Teresa Battisti Nasonti. Trying to do dual citizenship by descent. Thank you for any information you can provide.
