AngelaGrace56 wrote: 28 May 2025, 11:28 I followed some clues and worked out Felice's birth place (I hope):

1851 Birth of Felice Guerriero
Felice was born in Castelluccio Inferiore, Potenza, to parents Giovanni Guerriero and Maria Conte.

Perhaps Gallicchio which THAT makes sense. Gallicchio is next to Missanello.

“Love has no bounds!!!”

I’ll leave you to research Gallicchio if you feel that might be the correct birth place of Felice Guerriero. Personally, my thinking is that I have located the correct birth record, and that a “thank you” for my research would’ve been appropriate. (BTW There is no need to shout.) I believe that Giovanni and Maria lived in Castelluccio Inferiore, Potenza when they were first married, and that their first son Felice was born there, and that they at some point moved to Rovello, where son Nicolo was born in 1857. (Castelluccio Inferiore was Maria’s birth town, while Giovanni was born in Quadrelle – yikes even further away – yes it happened, more than you realise.) (They probably would’ve had other children between Felice and Nicolo’s birth. You might like to research this.)

Best to you with your research. :)

Edit to Add: I've just noticed your last post here which I hadn't seen before. Strange. Take care.

Good afternoon, Angela –

I just want to say how incredibly thankful and grateful I am...truly, you have no idea. Your time and efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I deeply appreciate all the work you've done.

If anything in my previous post came across the wrong way, I sincerely apologize — that was never my intention. The discovery of Felice's birth record was amazing, and the fact that you found it speaks volumes about your dedication.

What caught me off guard was seeing “Castelluccio Inferiore” listed, as it had never come up in any of my prior research. It just surprised me, and I wondered if it might have been a misreading. Gallicchio seemed to make more sense to me, since other members of the family are connected to that area, as well as Missanello, San Chirico, Roccanova, etc. That whole region seems more familiar in the context of the family history.

That said, I’m absolutely interested in learning more about Felice’s parents and their origins. If you’ve uncovered additional documents, I’d love to explore them. And if you’re confident that Castelluccio is indeed Maria’s birthplace, I definitely want to take a closer look.

Please know, if I could give you a hug in gratitude, I would! I meant no disrespect at all, and I am genuinely so appreciative of your help.

Thank you for your thoughtful words.

Here are the other records that I located yesterday for you:

1850 No 13 Marriage of Giovanni Guerriero and Maria Conte:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 10/Le9KqoW

1850 Allegati for Marriage No 13: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 28/wl8ZYJ4
Amongst the allegati you will find the following extracts:
Birth Act of the groom, Birth Act of the bride, the Death Act of the father of the groom, the Death Act of the paternal grandfather of the groom, the Death Act of the mother of the groom

The Allegati begin with an extract of the promise to marry (I’ve posted the original here), and the last two documents are the marriage banns that were posted in both the bride’s birth town (Castelluccio Inferiore) and the groom’s town (Quadrelle), known as the Atto di Notificazione. So two more towns for you to explore.

You’ve got some really good records there which will take you back further. I’m sorry I don’t have time to translate them for you but you can post the documents to our translations forum if that works for you. If you have any further questions I’m sure someone here will be able to help you. I have commitments over the next day or so and then am going to just be focussing on translations again and continue my own personal indexing which is a mammoth job.

Take care and enjoy the journey. :)

Thank you so much Angela!!!! This is huge. I think I can manage to get the bulk of the translations completed but if I run into any obstacles I will be sure to post them per your instructions. I know that you must be incredibly busy, but I so appreciate your efforts. I hope you have a great evening.
