Hello everyone,
I am trying to locate the birth record for Rose Ann Ciano, who was born around 16 February 1903. I believe she may have been born in Montefusco, Avellino, Campania, Italy, but I am not certain that location is correct.
Her father’s name is listed as Ricco Ciano, though I am unsure if that was his full name or a nickname — it could possibly have been Enrico, Federico, or Riccardo. Her mother’s name appears as Jennie Gallio, but that might also be a nickname; she could have been recorded as Giovanna, Gianina, or Janina in official documents.
Rose Ann Ciano died in 1952, and I am trying to confirm her parentage because different family trees I have seen list conflicting information. I have already checked Italian civil records online via the Antenati site but have been unable to locate her record.
I would greatly appreciate any help locating her birth certificate (atto di nascita), guidance on which parish or civil office might hold her record, or tips for searching Italian records when the names or location may be uncertain.
Thank you very much for any assistance!
PS: My great aunt added misinformation onto ancestry and doesn't have sources I'm trying to have sources to back me up.

Hi,
Looking at this family tree, the person born on 16 February 1903 it’s clearly not the person who arrived in the States in 1916 and got married in 1917.
Ages do not match, unless the date of birth on the death act is wrong.

As you pointed out there’s is some misinformation.
Then the surname. Is it Ciano or Siano?
I understand that that could cause misinterpreting if verbally submitted.
Also the birth date on the death act is conflicting with the one written on the grave.
Try to find a certainty based on written reference and then restart your research from there.
I know it’s going to be difficult as you have quite a few written acts all conflicting with each other.
Try to establish if it’s the same person or two different ones.
That would be a big step forward.
Montefusco’s registers are not online for that period and that certainly doesn’t help.
