GIMELLI FAMILY

Hi I am trying to find out as much information about my paternal grandfather's family. Dad's parents were separated/divorced so we never had much information on dad's side of the family).

I have done some digging and found out he had 3 sisters (we only thought he had one which was Laura Gimelli Venafra - I have managed to find her death certificate) - searches have found that he apparently had another 2 sisters - Armida Armelinda Gimelli born in 1903 and Caterina Elgidia Gimelli born in 1901. I can't seem to find out any information apart from their names and dates of birth - records show their parents as Vitaliano Gimelli and Rosina Donato (which were my grandfather's parents). I believe all siblings were born in Alexandria Egypt, but originally from Catanzaro, Italy - so their details would have been registered in Italy.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the 1871 (as stated on the tree) Catanzaro’s birth register there is only one entry with the surname Gimelli/Gemelli
Francesco Vitaliano Luigi Gemelli born on July 27th. #423
Parents are Antonio and Carolina Giglio.
Further investigation needed to confirm if this is your Vitaliano or not.
Also, the register is not complete as it stops in September.

Thank you. Answer to your first question is yes and no.. I managed to track down some of my my father's family via this website which is amazing and made me so happy... The information or tree posted by Amy relates to my father's mother's side - that's how we are related.. Amy did post some details on my father's father's side which is of great help..I give dug deeper and found there were another 2 siblings.
