Re: Same Person?
More information.
I know the identity of the older man in the two photos. At age 44, in his WWI draft record of 1918, he is described as having gray hair.
The younger man in the other photo doesn't appear to have gray hair. The photo of the younger man is cropped from a group photo. Based on the identify of others in that full photo I can date it being no earlier than late 1913.
So, if the two are the same person then his hair would have to have turned to gray between 1913 and 1918, when he was age 39 to 44.
I seem to recall hearing that the older man had red hair before it turned gray/white, but I'm not sure.
Could the younger man's hair be red?

Re: Same Person?
In the 1918 document, the older man was medium build, medium height, brown eyes, and gray hair.
Do the eyes of the younger man look brown?

Re: Same Person?
I know you've showed me these photos before. The ear structure is very similar, but not identical. The younger man's eyes appear blue or green, not brown. I'd say the younger man's hair was chestnut. Hard to tell if it has any gray...

Yes, this is a recurring interest of mine which surfaces from time to time. I may even have posted these same photos in this Forum before.
I think the chin is similar too.
The hair on the younger man almost looks like a wig, but I really doubt if that would be the case with an Italian immigrant in the early 1900s. Chestnut could fit my recollection of "red". I agree about the eyes. Of course, the WWI record might be in error. For example, the eyes could pass for gray. So, maybe it should have been gray eyes and brown hair, instead of the reverse. He was too old to register for WWII, and his immigration record doesn't record hair color. He became naturalized c.1911 before photos were taken.
Non of my relatives could say for sure, even those of my father's generation.

I wouldn't think your nose and chin would get smaller with age.
