Okay, this is none Italian but can you get me started L & M? Census/manifest info for: Elizabetham Vasil. Married Joannem Dankulic Feb 14th 1903 at Holy Family Slovak Church in Scranton PA. she arrived through New York. Her parents were Michaelis & Elizabetham Vasil who MAY have come after Elizabetham(The daughter). try to find town of origin. I think I may have a Ceraso question later as well. Elizabeth Vasil - travelled through NY (arrived from place unknown - single) married Joannem Dankulic on Feb 14 1902 in Scranton Pa...

Parents Michaelis and Elizabetham Vasil arrived AFTER their daughter did. (MAYBE) If am understanding Mr. Cherry correctly...

Town of origin required.. manifest.. census... the whole package...

Hi Michael!
Since you asked, in general:
- start with what you know for sure (you, parents, etc) working backward
- find all the US Records you can for your family
online you can find military, census, manifests, SSDI and more
most of the online sites are pay, but can be accessed thru a Family
History Center (LDS Church)
- some of these records can reveal locations, relatives, approx dates of
birth, marriages, etc
- with as much info as you can get, you can write for actual documents,
immigration, birth, marriage, SS application, death
- a Family History Center can get you started on overseas records (on
microfilm)
above all - organize & document what you find (esp. where you found it)
and before you start a project - have a plan: who are you researching and
what do you want to know from your research project today -
it's easy to get sidetracked
I'm sure I left a lot out, there are plenty of helpful websites that
can get you started (& books!).

Maybe Elizabeth's brother??

Would be joining his father Mechely Vasilik in Bradsdale, PA

This one has more substance... seems to match up with Elizabeth's manifest.. since the father was already in the USA... but if this is the correct family I am finding.. it shows that Elizabeth's father died sometime between the end of 1906 and Oct. 1907....

All this is just a hunch.. it's up to you to prove it...

This census is correct. However I'm not sure if this manifest is the same Elizabeth(Vasil)or Vasily or Vasilj?? Are the birth dates off? may be 2-3 years? What about the 1910 Census? Her parents were Michaelis and Elizabetham Vasil according to family records. ?? Michaelis may have died prior to the 1910 census. But they lived in PA.

In support of the manifest and census is that she is about the correct age, came alone, to New York, and was headed to the Wilkes-Barre area.

Negative is the birth year is off 2-3 and immigration year is off one year. Would you have the SECOND page of this manifest?
