How come when I search "Italian genealogy" on Google, this shows up:

I just did a search .. and this is about 17 minutes later after you posted and I got different results....

On which page did your search results show up...?

Dang! I just did a google search for "2.6.9-34.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Mar 8 00:27:03 CST 2006 i686" (copy from your above post) and it took me to a really weird section...

I went in ... and I have no clue what I saw... not sure I want to check further... too much computer Linux stuff that I just don't understand.... maybe I went somewhere I shouldn't have gone in?? 8O

I just did a search using Google, typed in Italian Genealogy, exactly as written......and the first reference that appeared was our recent hacker, who locked down this site and at least 8000 others.......

As explained to me once...this site has what is called "google spiders" and many of the things that are posted here will show up when you do a google search (another good reason not to post personal info).

I googled my user name and a few of my posts showed up regarding my search for my great grandparents. It only takes a few days to show up publicly.

I noticed this months ago so I've tried to be as careful as possible since then. Its a price we all pay when we use Internet. I even found my son doing a google search with something he posted when he was only 10!

I just searched google now and the first page read..

It will take a few days before the correct information is back in google again but it will be corrected.
